Sometimes ya just got to laugh

Posted in Directory Submission on July 3rd, 2007

Is India becoming the home of bad SEO? It seems to be the source of most of the inappropriate directory submissions and link request emails that we receive. Anyway, the clown below was silly enough to demonstrate the poor quality of his service by trying to submit a link for his own SEO business on to a dating directory.

I wonder what they charge to submit your website to 1000’s of inappropriate directories? People like these should be avoided.

Hello,

Dear Trademark Holder, get a clue ..!

Posted in Directory Submission on May 26th, 2007

Nothing get my hackles up like receiving an email like this.

You are in trademark violation by using our trade mark, ******** in your search links. Google has already removed all references and sent and email to our attorney confirming this. Please cease and desist from using our trademark as links to your website.

Now besides the overall offensive tone of this email, the sender completely fails to identify the pages from the website that infringe on the trademark. Not only that, a quick search reveals that though they’ve submitted a trademark application, it hasn’t yet been approved. Also, as far as I can tell, Google hasn’t removed any links to the pages in question.

So is someone spinning a porky or are they just being a little bit flexible with the truth?

As an alternative approach you could try a letter like this.

Dear Webmaster,

we have recently submitted a trademark application for the words ******. A search on Google shows that your webpage http://****** contains content that may infringe on our trademark. Please be advised that unauthorised use of our trademark is an offense under [insert relevant law here] and may result in legal action if you continue to use our trademark in this way,

regards

The links manager at Omni Business Solutions in Utah doesn’t seem to give a flying toss about directory submission policies. Which is why we are banning them from our directories.

Here is their most recent example of submitting unrelated links to themed directory sites.

Our American dating guide website has the following submission policy clearly displayed on our add link page.

The American Dating Guide only links to dating and personals sites.

Submission not related to dating, relationships or personals will be rejected.

So why is it that some webmasters find it so hard to understand.

You have got to be joking..!

Posted in Directory Submission on February 8th, 2006

Some ‘jerk off’ tried to send me this thing today. Do people still believe this crap? Interesting to see the use of the capital i’s as a replacement for L’s . An attempt to bypass spam filters perhaps? Didn’t work..! Anyway it is the duty of all web site owners to not use the services of dicks like these.

Submitting your website in search engines may increase your online sales dramatically.
lf you invested time and money into your website, you simpIy MUST submit your website
online otherwise it wiII be invisibIe virtuaIIy, which means efforts spent in vain .lf you want
people to know about your website and boost your revenues, the only way to do that is to
make your site visibIe in places where people search for information ,i.e. submit your website
in multipIe search enqines.

Submit your website online and watch visitors stream to your e-business.
